Days 6 -17

Christmas made running hard. On Day 6 I ran the neighborhoods around my house which equaled 4 miles. It was really hilly, and I had some intense knee pain for 2 days after that.

Day8 I did 2 miles. Day 9 we went bowling which was fun and did make my bootie sore. Days 10 - 13 were pretty much a wash. We did spend a day at Silver Dollar City which required lots of walking.

Day 15 was 3.5
Day 17 was 3.5

I got a Nike Plus thingy for Christmas which will be fun to help me track my progress!

Days 4&5

Ok, yesterday I was stuck in the house cooking and cleaning for the BUNCO crowd that came over last night, so it was my rest day.

Today I just ran 2.5 around my neighborhood. All I can say is the hills were NO JOKE. I did run the whole 28 minutes, but I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it at a couple of points. Its below freezing and spitting snow too.

DAY 3

Today was a true test of commitment! YIKES my legs are SORE! BUT, I met Jennifer at the trail and we hit it up for 4.5 miles despite the soreness.

distance: 4.5
time: 1hr
That was running and walking.
It was beautiful out a balmy 55degrees and sunny. It was perfect running weather for me! We shall see what tomorrow holds!!

DAY 2

Before I log my info on today's training, I thought I would clarify why I need to accomplish this goal. It is more than a bucket list item to check off. I have zero self-discipline, and my goal is to acquire some! I am trying to figure out how to stop putting pleasures before priorities. Here is my chance to prove to myself that I can keep going even when pleasure is nowhere in site!!

DAY 2

WEATHER: Sunny and 47 degrees
DISTANCE: 3 miles
TIME: 27 minutes (ran/jogged the whole thing)
How do I feel? not as fatigued. I have VERY sore hamstrings/quads.

1/2 Marathon Training

Well, it is time to check off a bucket list item! Today marks DAY 1 of training for the Bentonville 1/2 marathon on March 13, 2010. Many of you may think that this tall clunky body is just down right crazy to train for running 13 miles that is just a mere 12 weeks and 4 days away, and you are probably right! However, to accomplish it will be a SWEET personal victory for me.

DAY 1 LOG:
friends on board: Sarah Caban, Jennifer Siebert, Leah Sobiech, Tricia Deardorff

Training Day 1 (December 15th) - Tara and Leah ran 3 miles walked 1
Jennifer ran 1.5 and walked 2

How do I feel physically after the run? fatigued and coughing quite a bit.

Jennifer and Leah purchased new shoes at the local running store, and we all 3 had a gait analysis which was FUN! My issues are too extensive to list.

Now, stay tuned for training DAY 2 log. = )
